Two seniors from Chanhassen and Chaska High Schools have been named National Merit Scholarship Finalists. This achievement puts them among the top high school scholars in the country. Finalists are chosen based on their academic skills and achievements, extracurricular accomplishments, leadership abilities, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Of the 15,000 Finalists nationwide, about 8,000 receive Merit Scholarship awards. All Finalists are considered for one of the 2,500 National Merit $2,500 Scholarships, which are awarded on a state representational basis.
