DRAWING 1

Course Description:

1 Quarter Block .50 Credit

Learning Area: Arts & Literature

Content Standard: Literary & Arts Creation & Performance

This is a class in which you will acquire basic drawing skills.

Considered the "basic training” of art, Drawing I includes the

study of values, perspective, portrait, figure, contour, and

gesture drawing. Students will work in pencil, pastels, charcoal,

conte crayon, and markers.

COMPUTER GENERATED ART I

Course Description:

1 Quarter Block .50 Credit

Learning Area: Arts & Literature

Content Standard: Literary & Arts Creation & Performance

This windows-based course is intended to acquaint the beginner

or advanced computer user to new ways of artistic expression.

Students will create computer drawings and paintings in which

digital tools are emphasized as the “mediums”. Photoshop and

paint programs, as well as scanning, are used to create and

manipulate images.

PAINTING I

Course Description:

An introduction to the material and subject possibilities of

painting. The emphasis is on color, composition, and
