| Business Technology Learning Area: Read, Listen, View Content Standard: Technical Reading, Listening & Viewing 1 Quarter Block (404) .50 Credit Elective: Grades 10, 11, 12 Students in this class will use the internet for business activities. You will create web pages, make travel arrangements for a business trip to a foreign country, design an office, participate in simulated activities and produce business documents. KEYBOARDING 1 Keyboarding I is an introductory course that will allow you to communicate efficiently with the computer. The main emphasis will be learning touch-key technique. Keyboarding is a lifelong skill and students will gain higher speed/accuracy if correct technique is used. Students will learn to use the alpha and numeric keys by touch. In addition, students will create documents that look good by using correct formatting procedures. Units covered include introductions to tabulation, centering, reports, and letters. KEYBOARDING 2 In this second quarter of keyboarding, emphasis will be placed on using the computer to improve speed and accuracy. You will learn to format academic reports and various personal and business correspondence. |
