Accounting

Don't just learn about a business, learn about the business world.  Accounting opens doors in every kind of business coast to coast and around the world.  The accounting classes offered are listed below:  

Accounting 1
1 Quarter Block  (0405)     .50 Credit
Elective:  Grades 10, 11, 12

The first quarter will acquaint you with the basics of accounting. Keeping financial records for a small service-type business will be covered this quarter. Students will perform manual applications as well as computerized accounting using Peachtree Accounting software. If you plan to go into business you should also enroll in Accounting II.  College credit could be obtained by successfully completing Acct. 1 and Acct. 2 with a B or better average.

Accounting 2

1 Quarter Block (0406)      .50 Credit
Elective:  Grades 10, 11, 12        
Prerequisite:  Accounting I

This is a continuation of the first quarter of accounting. During this quarter a simulation will be used for the students to keep all accounting records for a business. Accounting for payroll, special cash funds, and depreciation will be covered. The students will use Peachtree Accounting software. College credit could be obtained by successfully completing Acct. 1 and Acct. 2 with a B or better average.

Accounting Independent Study

This course is for students who have found a fascination for accounting.  The course is used to build on the concepts learned in Accounting I & II.  Maintaining its real-world focus, this course is designed for college bound students.
