Classroom Policies:
Classroom Rules / Expectations: Electronic Devises:
are not permitted in class. Any MP3/CD players or cell phones used in
class may be confiscated and turned over to the house dean. Safety: As
this classroom (B230) is designed for cooking labs, safety is a top priority. If a student is behaving in a manner that
is unsafe (i.e. horseplay, using tools inappropriately, etc.) they may be
asked to leave the room, suspended, or withdrawn from class. The knives and other cutting tools we use
in class are considered weapons if used in any manner other than that
instructed. Respect and Responsibility:
listening to all directions/instructions is important for both lab and non-lab
classes. Understanding what needs to be
done is an important part of successfully completing assignments and recipes.
Each student is expected to be responsible
for his/her share of the lab/group work, and also to treat one another with respect
in the classroom. Attendance / Absences / Tardiness: Attendance Policy:
see CHS policy on attendance. Tardy Policy: I am following the new CHS tardy policy; the first tardy is a warning, the second tardy will result in a lunch detention, to be served immediately that day or the next. Any subsequent tardies will result in lunch detentions and the house dean will be contacted.
Make-up Work / Late Work: Make-up work:
see CHS policy on make-up work due to absence. Late work: no
late work will be accepted for the first half of the quarter after mid-quarter
grades have been given. I reserve the right
to use my professional judgment to grant extensions when needed. Please see me if you feel there are
extenuating circumstances that may warrant an extension of the
deadlines. |
