Students who qualify for services from the Program for Academic Challenge or PAC are invited to attend Focus Groups on issues common for adolescent high potential learners. Research shows that high potential students benefit socially from time spent with each other. Possible topics and discussion that may occur in the Focus Groups include:

  • Developing leadership skills
  • Underachievement
  • Dealing with perfectionism
  • Choosing a college
  • Multipotentiality
  • Goal setting
  • Decision making skills
  • Career planning
  • Time management
  • Managing stress
  • Dealing with parental expectations
  • Meaning of high potential

These sessions are voluntary and meet during lunch and/or options. Students should look for meeting times/dates outside my office, R243.  They may also be published in the
PAC Newsletter or CHS PAC News section.

Parents are welcome at any time to call and make an appointment for future academic program counseling or help with social and emotional issues of concern for their high potential learner.
