CONSUMER AUTO

1 Quarter Block (1810)   .50 Credit

Elective: Grades 11, 12

This is an introductory course where students learn to take care of their own vehicles.  This environment empowers students in performing maintenance procedures as well as becoming informed consumers when having vehicle service work done and purchasing a vehicle.  Students will learn general vehicle systems, calculate expenses, plan trips, perform simple mechanical and body repairs, and evaluate a vehicle when making a purchase.  Careers in today's rapidly changing automotive fields will also be explored. 

This nongender specific class is not an advanced auto mechanics class. 

*Students are responsible for class lab fee, fieldtrip expenses, and must have their own vehicle, or have access to a vehicle on a regular basis.
