This
is an introductory course where students learn to take care of their own
vehicles. This environment empowers
women in performing maintenance procedures as well as becoming informed
consumers when having vehicle service work done and purchasing a vehicle.
Students will learn general vehicle systems, calculate expenses, plan
trips and perform simple mechanical and body repairs, and evaluating a vehicle
when making a purchase. Careers in today's rapidly changing automotive fields
will also be explored. This class
is an introductory course, not an advanced auto mechanics class.
*Students are responsible for class lab fee, fieldtrip expenses, and must have their own vehicle or have access to a vehicle on a regular basis.
