Meet Mr. Peoples
Hello everyone,
I am excited to meet all of you this fall. It should be an exciting year for all of you. You will meet many new friends. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and what I have been doing all summer.
This is my 6th year teaching at CMSW and my 2nd year teaching 6th grade. I used to teach reading at CMSE and CMSW. I now teach Social Studies and Language Arts.
I enjoy all kinds of sports but I have to say that my favorite is Baseball. I play softball in the summer and try to catch as many Twins games as I can. I also enjoy all kinds of music. I even play in a band. I play the piano, the harmonica, and the guitar.
The last thing I would like to share with you is that I love History! I like traveling to historic places and seeing historic things. I like to read books that talk about history and I love to share history with my students. This summer I traveled to Washington D.C., New York City, Denver, Utah, Pennyslanvia and Virginia. I toured some Civil War battlegrounds out east as well. Here is a list of Battlefields I toured:
Manassas (Bull Run)
Fredricksburg
Chancellorsville
Gettysburg
Antietam (Sharpsburg)
Harpers Ferry
Appomattox
Lexington, VA (Lee is buried here)
Here are some pictures of my travels this summer:
