Expectations

THE TEAM BASICS

·        Be on time

·        Sit in assigned seat

·        Bring required materials

·        NO locker passes

·        Pass log required for bathroom

·        Teacher’s desk is private property

NOTE: All other school policies and STARR Program policies apply as well.

Classroom Expectations:

  1. Respect-yourself, others, and school property.  Clean up after yourself! 
  2. No gum, food or pop.  Water is allowed, but not on lab days.
  3. Do your own work.  Cheating =0 points.
  4. Be on time, bring your “stuff”, and be in your seat for dismissal at the end of the hour.  No locker passes.

Everyday you will need your:

      ~  Science Notebook
 ~  CMSW 8th grade student planner with pass log
 ~  Writing utensil

I will announce any special materials (colored pencils, highlighter, etc.) are needed the day before.  Check the What You Need board daily for materials/instructions.  3 Tardies=Lunch Detention.

TARDY POLICY: Students are expected to be on time, in their seats, and ready to start class at the beginning of class. A student who arrives to class late will be expected to fill out tardy ticket. Three tardies will result in a BIP according to the STARR Program. 

LATE WORK:  Late daily work is not accepted if the student was present for the lesson.  Projects/papers/labs go to 1/2 credit if late.  If a student is absent they will have two days to turn in make-up work.  There will be deductions for any work turned in after the two-day grace period.  Tests will be announced at least one full week in advance, so students are expected to take any tests the day they return to school. All tests and labs must be made up within ONE week from when they were given or will result in a 0. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING MAKE-UP WORK WHEN THEY ARE ABSENT.

SCIENCE NOTEBOOK:   Students will keep a science notebook with all notes, assignments, grade trackers, and other work organized.  The student will get a checklist  before being collected to organize it with. 

GRADE TRACKER:  Students are expected to keep a grade tracker which will be turned in each quarter for points.  Students should keep it in their science notebook and fill out as soon as assignments are returned to them.  If you lose yours, you are responsible for printing a grade tracker and catching up from posted grades.
