I teach English Language Learners at Chaska Middle School West.  This is my 6th year at District 112.  Before teaching at Chaska Middle School West, I was in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and Bolivia.  If you don't know what the Peace Corps is, you should check it out at www.peacecorps.gov.  In Guatemala I taught adults to read, and I taught English and environmental education to kids in kindergarten through 6th grade.  In Bolivia I taught science, English to students and teachers, and I worked with families to build and utilize greenhouses. In my spare time I helped start a school lunch program using vegetables from a garden planted and cared for by the science class.

My experience in the Peace Corps is part of why I enjoy teaching English Language Learners.  I know first hand what it is like to need to live and work in a country and to have to speak a language that isn't your first language.

In my spare time I enjoy riding my bike, running, swimming, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family.
