Safety Sheet Permission Form
Your son/daughter is enrolled in a course called 8th grade Technology Education. This class will deal with the four main areas of technology (Communication, Construction, Manufacturing, and Power, Energy, and Transportation). These areas will be taught mainly through hands on experiences in a woodworking shop. Students will be using various hand tools, along with power equipment such as band saws, sanders, drills, scroll saws, etc?
Due to the safety issues and the amount of people in the class, students will be required to wear safety glasses at all times. Students will be provided a pair of safety glasses for use in class. These glasses will need to be worn during all shop activities. Students may use their own glasses, but they must have their glasses with them everyday. If they do not have their glasses, they will not be able to work in the shop, and will have a paper to write on the importance of wearing safety equipment.
Because of the cost of the materials to run this course, all students are encouraged to take their projects home at the cost for the materials they used. There is a $15.00 lab fee for this course
