Art 8 Elective an art class designed to allow students to explore additional studio areas of art. The class meets every other day for an entire semester and focuses on both two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects. Students will have the opportunity to work with different mediums including wood, plaster gauze, ink and wire creating artworks that are assembled, cast, drawn and fabricated. Students will increase their knowledge and skill level in drawing, painting, design, and sculpture, as well as gain a better understanding of color, value, balance, pattern, texture, line, and more! As an elective class, Art 8 Exploratory teaches students cultural and historical background in all areas of art as well as providing a fun class to let eighth graders be creative and produce interesting works of art! This class is highly recommended for students who have an interest in visual arts. Those who want to show their creativity or learn about and experience types of art that aren't always included in the Art 8 curriculum...this is the class for you!
