Directed Reading/Thinking Activity
DRTA is a way of modeling and teaching students to read closely and purposefully. A text is revealed to students in installments. As each is introduced, the teacher guides the students by asking them to make predictions, reach conclusions, consider the structures and features as supporting evidence from the text.
