In all learning models:
Our work is purposeful for each and every student | We will ensure that our Focus Plan building goals can be accomplished | We will prepare and scale for the potential use throughout the school year | We will use Google Classroom as a framework for all students
You can expect:
We will follow MDE and MDH guidelines | COVID awareness training for all staff | Daily attendance | Limited building access for visitors and volunteers | Field trips will be postponed | No large gatherings | 1:1 mobile devices | Technology support
All staff and students will wear face coverings unless an accommodation is requested.
There will be a strong focus on relationships, social-emotional learning, and student mental health for in-person learning.
During in-person learning days, all staff and students will wear face coverings unless an accommodation is requested.
Parent, student, and teacher feedback from the spring distance learning has informed improvements to the remote learning days. Increased focus on student-teacher engagement, consistent expectations and schedules, open communication, and technology supports will be cornerstones of this experience.
In the ECCS hybrid model, students will be split into two groups – A and B. Group A will learn in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays and Group B will learn in-person on Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays will be learning from home for all students while the schools have a deep cleaning and teachers have a chance to plan and collaborate.
HYBRID LEARNING SCHEDULE
Parent, student, and teacher feedback from the spring distance learning has informed enhancements to our distance learning plans. Increased focus on student-teacher engagement, consistent expectations and schedules, open communication, and technology supports will be cornerstones of Distance Learning 2.0.
For families who want a 100% online option, Eastern Carver County Schools has created the ECCS Online Learning Academy. Taught by ECCS teachers and following the same standards and learning targets as other learning models, this fully online option is available to all K-12 students as an opt-in model. In order to appropriately schedule and staff the online learning academy, we are asking parents to commit to this model by August 14th. Students who choose this fully online model must commit to staying with it through January 22 (end of first semester for secondary students).
The ECCS Online Learning Academy will operate independently from the other learning models but reporting (student enrollment, grades, transcript) will still happen through student boundary/ home school.
Students can expect a combination of live online instruction by their teacher, independent work, online check-ins and recorded instructions, lessons, and tutorials. Students will be expected to participate five days a week with clearly defined student schedules and teacher-directed learning.
Please use the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to opt-in to the ECCS Online Learning Academy by August 14.
