Events Celebrate Gifts that People with Disabilities Bring to our Community

A series of special events celebrate the many gifts people with disabilities bring and explore how we can create opportunities for people with disabilities to more fully participate in our community. The events are free and open to the public.

The highlight of the series is a chance to listen to and talk with Rachel Simon, author of Riding the Bus With My Sister, a memoir of the year Simon spent with her sister Beth who is disabled. During that year, Simon lived her sister's stories, experienced her obstacles and came to recognize and be transformed by the gifts Beth brings to her community.
