NewsDistrict 112 Earns "Energy Excellence Award"Four years of conscious energy conservation paid off this summer when Energy Education, Inc. announced that District 112 had saved more than $1 million in energy costs. "Reaching this savings mark is a significant milestone," said Dr. William S. Spears, CEO and founder of Energy Education, Inc. "The district achieved success by consistently implementing a people-oriented approach to conservation. Employees are to be commended for being good stewards of taxpayers' money." Accepting the award at the July 26 School Board meeting, District 112 energy management coordinator, Rob Jacobs, recognized the important contributions of the District's custodial staff in meeting conservation goals. "They made an incredible effort over four years," he said. District 112 used the training and conservation program created by Energy Education, Inc. in achieving the savings, which amounted to approximately 18%. | |||||||
