Welcome to Algebra I!  We have an exciting year ahead of us as you learn new math concepts and develop old ones from previous math courses! I hope to help provide a fun and challenging year for you!

 

Supplies Required

·        Covered textbook

·        Notebook

·        Pencil/Writing Utensil

·        Folder for homework/hand outs

·        Graph paper

·        TI-30 Calculator

 

Classroom Expectations:

 

·        Everyone is expected to be in the room before the bell rings to start the hour and stay seated until the bell rings at the end of the hour.

·        Always be respectful to the teacher and other students.

·        Come prepared! (Book, paper, pencil)

·        80/20% time on task target (this puts more responsibility on you!)

·        If you are absent, it is your job to get notes from another student or webpage and get the assignment from the assignment board.

·        Please let the teacher know you are using the bathroom pass.

·        Food is acceptable unless it smells, is sticky, is messy or makes noise.  Water is the only beverage allowed.

·        Use calculators only for the purposes of this class.

 

Grade Determination:

Your grade will be determined by your work on Homework (10%),

Quizzes (40%) and Tests (50%).  Late assignments are worth half credit if turned in within a week.  After that is will remain a zero.

 

Grade Breakdown:

A:  93-100%                 B-:  80-82%            D+:  67-69%

A-:  90-92%                  C+:  77-79%           D:  63-66%

B+:  87-89%                 C:  73-76%              D-:  60-62%

B:  83-86%                   C-:  70-72%            F:  59% or below

 

For extra help, please see me before/after school, during 5th hour, during lunch or call me at home at 368-7591.

    (recommended but not required.)
