Specialized Education Advisory Council (SEAC)

Purpose: The Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) advises the Executive Director of Specialized Services on current issues, program development, parent concerns, involvement, and departmental priorities. The SEAC represents the interests of all district learners with disabilities from birth to age 22. Its mission is to provide input to the special education department, serve as a communication link with the ECCS community at large, and advocate for continuous improvement of high-quality special education programs.

The purpose of the Special Education Advisory Council is to provide input, support, and advice to district administration on topics related to special education services and support.  To that end, SEAC will work to:

  • Promote collaboration within the district and between the district and parents.
  • Advise and advocate for students with disabilities and their parents.
  • Inform, support, and advise district staff, parents, students, and the community to promote school success for students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with parents and district staff to promote best practice models district-wide for students in special education.
