Eastern Carver County School District is pleased to name Arika Mareck as the district’s Director of Equity and Inclusion. She will begin her role later this month.

Mareck, who currently serves as the district’s Achievement and Integration Lead Specialist, has over 15 years of experience in education. Prior to her current role, she served as a Regional Program Manager for BARR Center, supporting and coaching schools nationwide. She helped develop and execute a variety of equitable educational structures and systems such as the Equity Coaching Model, which is a teacher-coaching model that she co-created, implemented, and expanded in the St. Louis Park school district. In addition, she has taught 7th- 12th grades in English Language Arts in Eastern Carver County Schools and St. Louis Park Public Schools. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and her Master’s in Education from Augsburg College.

Mareck earned the position following a rigorous and thorough interview process that included multiple rounds of interviews with various stakeholders. Her experience as an equity leader and commitment to expanding learning and growth opportunities for every child make her an excellent fit for this position and Eastern Carver County Schools. We are proud to welcome Arika to this new role in our community of learners, teachers, and all who work to benefit young people.
