Eastern Carver County Schools has received one-time federal funding via three stimulus bills to be used to cover costs incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. These funds were used for things like "super substitutes" - districtwide positions added to ensure regular coverage of classrooms at a time when substitutes were in short supply, personal protective equipment, and increased cleaning and sanitation costs. The third stimulus bill, the American Rescue Plan, was signed into law on March 11, 2021. The district was allocated approximately $1.45 million in ESSER III funds as part of that legislation.
To receive federal ESSER III funding, the school district must provide an opportunity for public feedback on our spending plan. You can view Director of Finance and Operations Ron Meyer’s presentation to the Board this week on federal funding, and specifically the district’s plan for ESSER III funds, here and presentation slides here.
The public is invited to provide any feedback on the plan to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for feedback is September 29, 2021.
