Eastern Carver County School District is excited to name Givonna Koné as the next Director of Human Resources. She will start her role July 1, and follows Dr. Jim O’Connell, who is retiring from the district after more than 25 years of service.

Koné has over two decades of experience in human resources management, serving most recently as the Director of Human Resources for the City of Plymouth. Prior to that, she worked in human resources and administration for the City of Ramsey, City of Mounds View, and has additional leadership experience in roles supporting Summit Academy OIC and the City of Minneapolis. In addition to her work experience, Koné is a board member of the Minnesota Public Employer’s Labor Relations Association and an active member of the National Public Employer’s Labor Relations Association and the International Public Management Association - Human Resources.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Master’s in Public Administration from Hamline University.

Koné earned the position following a rigorous and thorough interview process that included multiple rounds of interviews with various stakeholders. Her wealth of experience in all aspects of human resources, including recruitment and retention, negotiation and mediation, and designing benefits and compensation strategies make her an excellent fit for Eastern Carver County Schools. We are proud to welcome Givonna to our community of learners, teachers, and all who work to benefit young people.
